Nationwide Children's Hospital Research Building 4

The Research Institute at Nationwide Children’s Hospital is one of the Top 10 National Institutes of Health-funded freestanding pediatric research facilities in the U.S., supporting basic, clinical, translational and health services research.  Research Building 4 will be approximately 220,000 square feet and connect to the existing Research Building 3.  Sauls Seismic was chosen as the Vibration Specialist for the project to establish vibration limits and monitor pile driving for the foundation.  Seismographs were placed near highly sensitive research instruments, medical equipment and the surgical suite to ensure that safe vibration levels were maintained.  The Sauls Seismic NOW AccessTM system was utilized throughout the project to notify project and hospital management of vibration alerts.  A combination text/email alert system was set up to send notifications for both alert and action levels of vibration.
