Princeton University School of Engineering & Applied Sciences – Princeton, NJ
As a top ranked US university, Princeton University expands their School of Engineering and Applied Sciences research and teaching facilities with four new buildings for environmental science, bioengineering, chemical and biological engineering, and an engineering commons. This project is located in the confines of the existing campus and required blasting near existing campus buildings. Sauls Seismic was contracted to conduct preblast inspections, postblast inspections, blast monitoring, and construction monitoring on this project. Inspections and monitoring were conducted on campus buildings and sports facilities, monitoring at 29 seismograph locations. The Sauls Seismic Now Access SM system was utilized throughout the project to notify project management of vibration alerts. A combination text/email alert system was set up to send notifications for both alert and action levels of vibration.
