Toyota Battery Manufacturing – Julian, NC
With an investment of $5.9 billion, Toyota is building a lithium-ion battery facility to develop and produce batteries for its expanding portfolio of electrified vehicles. The facilities will incorporate 2 million square feet of space spread over 3 buildings with six production lines that include four supporting battery production for Hybrid Electric Vehicles and two supporting battery production for Battery Electric Vehicles. Sauls Seismic has been contracted by Maine Drilling & Blasting to monitor blasting and handle blasting complaints on this project, monitoring blasting with 5 different seismograph locations to date. The Sauls Seismic Now AccessSM system was utilized throughout the project to notify project management of vibration alerts. A combination text/email alert system was set up to send notifications for both alert and action levels of vibration.
